Mobile-Friendly Isn't Optional Anymore

Aug 28, 2026

More than half of local service searches happen on a phone. In home service, it is often more than that. The person with the problem is standing in a basement, a driveway, or a kitchen — not at a desk.

A site that was “fine on a computer” can still fail that person. Text too small. A phone number that is not tappable. A form that requires pinch-and-zoom. A slideshow that eats the first five seconds. They do not file a complaint. They hit the back button.

Google notices too. Slow, clumsy mobile pages get pushed down. You pay twice: fewer people find you, and the ones who do cannot use the page.

Mobile-first is not a trend. It is building the next step for a thumb: clear trade, clear area, reviews, a short form, a tap-to-call. If those four things work on a phone, the desktop version will be fine. The reverse is not true.

If you have not opened your own site on your phone in a parking lot, do it today. Whatever annoys you is already losing you jobs.
