Listing fifty towns you might theoretically drive to does not make Google treat you like the local pro in all fifty. It often makes the site look unfocused, and it can water down the places you actually want to rank.
Start with where you already win work. The cities you can reach in a reasonable drive, the ones on your invoices, the ones your crew knows. Those deserve a clear mention on the homepage and, when it is real, a simple service-area page with the trade and proof you work there.
Avoid copying a radius that looks good on a sales map. If you will not take a small job an hour away, do not advertise that town like it is your backyard. Angry “you said you cover us” calls are not a marketing win.
A handful of honest areas, named in the language people search, beats a wall of cities copied from a competitor. Google and customers both prefer a company that is clearly from somewhere.
You can add towns as you grow. You should not fake a metro to look bigger. Coverage on the site should match coverage in the truck.
